Harwood 100 Taos - Open Wall
I'm thrilled to share that I've secured a coveted spot at the open wall exhibition, a groundbreaking event hosted at the Harwood Museum—the first of its kind since 1940. The experience has been nothing short of exhilarating, allowing me to immerse myself in a world of artistic brilliance and creativity.
The exhibition proved to be a delightful journey into the realms of contemporary art, providing a unique platform for both established and emerging artists to showcase their ingenuity. The opportunity to mingle with fellow artists, each with their own distinctive perspectives and techniques, was an enriching experience that left me invigorated and inspired.
Stepping into the gallery, I was met with a tapestry of captivating pieces, each carrying its own story, emotion, and interpretation. From intricate sculptures that seemed to breathe life into space, to canvases bursting with vibrant colors and bold strokes, the exhibition was a testament to the boundless creativity that resides within the artistic community.
Beyond the visual spectacle, the event created an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual appreciation. Engaging conversations flowed effortlessly, as artists and art enthusiasts alike shared insights, experiences, and visions. It was a reminder of the profound impact that art can have in fostering connections and bridging gaps, transcending boundaries and languages.
As I reflect on this remarkable event, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of such a momentous occasion. The Harwood Museum's dedication to nurturing the arts and fostering a space for artistic expression is truly commendable, and I feel privileged to have contributed to the revival of this tradition.
In the wake of this exhibition, I am inspired to continue pushing the boundaries of my own artistic endeavors, fueled by the memories of this enriching experience. The echoes of conversations and the vivid imagery of the exhibited pieces will remain etched in my mind, propelling me forward in my creative journey.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who made this event possible, and to all who shared in this celebration of art. It is my hope that the spirit of this exhibition will linger on, igniting a renewed passion for art in the hearts of all who had the privilege of attending.
Here's to a future filled with more vibrant exhibitions, connections, and artistic discoveries. Until then, I carry the memories of this exceptional event with me, a constant source of inspiration and joy.

Harwood 100 - The Open Wall
All local artists are invited to exhibit their work in this self–curated exhibition series that honors Harwood’s democratic origins.
Harkening back to Harwood’s 1940s history when anyone from Taos County could hang a work of art in the galleries as part of a $5.00 annual membership, we invite our community to three opportunities to participate in an open hanging of their own artworks in the Joyce and Sherman Scott Gallery.
Hanging is first-come, first serve––lining up early is encouraged. Artists install their work beginning at 1pm and ending at 5pm. Enjoy music, light hors d’oeuvres, and beverages while you share your work with fellow participating artists. Harwood Museum of Art provides wall space, pedestals, hammers, and nails. All artistic media are welcome that can be installed within a 20-minute time limit. Each artist is limited to one work of art. Art from artists that are not present will not be allowed.
